The Elementary Art School in Město Albrechtice, Tyršova 1, a contributory organization, was founded by the Moravian-Silesian Region.
The founder of the elementary art school in Město Albrechtice is the Moravian-Silesian Region.
The town of Albrechtice is the gateway to the interesting region of Osoblaha and the Zlatohorska Highlands. It is an area of natural beauty and, at the same time, a place that has undergone a very dramatic history, which has left behind a number of cultural monuments.
The town of Albrechtice lies northwest of Krnov, near the border with Poland, and has a population of approximately 3,600, including its urban districts. The elementary art school itself is located on the main road connecting Krnov and the Czechia-Poland border. The building is surrounded by a large garden dominated by a gazebo. The gazebo is mainly used for open-air performances and provides children and visitors with unusual cultural experiences. Since 2005, the school building has undergone a series of partial modifications and renovations. These have ranged from the replacement of the roof and boiler, through the replacement of windows, a new facade, building renovation, landscaping, to the reconstruction of the interior. It is certainly worth mentioning the increase in the capacity of the concert hall at the expense of unused attic space, where two more classrooms were created.
Since 2010, the school has also been equipped with new electrical wiring. Each classroom has an internal telephone line, which also serves as a security system to prevent unauthorized persons from entering the building (video intercom). The school, students, employees, and visitors to the music school are further protected by a camera system, both outside and inside the building. All classrooms are equipped with internet connections, and Wi-Fi is also available. The school's equipment for teaching pupils is of a very high standard. This includes musical instruments and a music theory classroom equipped with a modern digital touchscreen. The sound system in the concert hall is also of a high standard, thanks to the soundproof glass wall separating the hall from the common areas of the staircase. The concert hall is also air-conditioned. Classes for individual lessons are equipped with special doors to prevent sound from spreading.
In addition to the main building in Město Albrechtice, the ZUŠ has seven other locations where education is provided (Dívčí Hrad, Jindřichov, Holčovice, and Třemešné). Currently, the branches in Slezské Rudoltice and at the Město Albrechtice Elementary School are not open.
The school has a capacity of 300 students, with an average attendance of around 210 in recent years. The school currently employs 16 teaching staff, most of whom work part-time. Their average age is approximately 35. The school also employs three non-teaching staff.
The school currently offers instruction in three artistic fields: music, visual arts, and literary drama. The school is known for its welcoming and family-like atmosphere and, in particular, its individual approach to each student. This is evidenced by the friendly relationships with the parents of students, who are often former graduates themselves. In cooperation with them, we have established the Association of Parents and Friends of the Elementary Art School as an additional opportunity. However, the priority remains and will continue to be to shape and form culturally educated personalities guided towards self-realization, creative expression, emotional development, feelings of happiness and joy, and strengthening self-confidence. We continue to implement projects based on interdisciplinary cooperation, which is one of the pillars of the school's educational program.
